VANISHING POINT will play with Heavy Metal Rock God's IRON MAIDEN!!

PERTH ~ Burswood Dome 4 Feb 2008
MELBOURNE ~ Rod Laver Arena 6th & 7th Feb 2008
See you there!!

~Taken from the Dainty Consolidated Entertainment Website~

EDDIE GETS HIGH AND GOES GLOBAL
THE HEAVYWEIGHTS OF ROCK RETURN TO AUSTRALIA AFTER 15 YEARS
IRON MAIDEN announce their most ambitious and extraordinary touring plans ever – and are very pleased to announce that this will include Australia for the first time in 15 years!
The ‘SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME' World Tour 2008 will be in three sections, starting in February and March 2008 with the first leg encompassing major concerts in 20 selected cities on five continents in seven weeks including India, Japan, North America, Central and South America, and, of course, Australia, opening in Perth on Feb 4 and continuing through Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
The tour then continues with more concerts in North America in late May and June before finishing with a third leg in July and August encompassing major stadiums and festivals all over Europe. During the tour the band is expected to play to well over one and a half million fans and travel close to 100,000 miles.
In an historic first, Iron Maiden, their 60-strong crew and support staff and over 12 tons of equipment will be travelling around the world en masse for the first leg of the tour in a specially commissioned and converted Astraeus Boeing 757 decorated with Maiden and Eddie designs! Vocalist Bruce Dickinson, who is a qualified Airline Captain flying for Astraeus Airlines, will pilot the plane on its epic mission, flying over 50,000 miles.
Historically, this will be Maiden's fourth Australian Tour having first toured in 1982 when ‘The Number of the Beast' was Australia's number one album, then again in 1985 with the original ‘Powerslave' show and most recently in 1992 with ‘Fear of the Dark'. However a great deal has happened with the band since then, especially in recent years when ticket sales have continued to explode around the world as the band's loyal fan base continues to flourish. As Maiden have never had airplay or much video channel exposure anywhere in the world their popularity spread mainly by word of mouth on the back of a legacy of many great albums and an awesome live reputation.
With the ever increasing power of the internet the Maiden legend has fired the imagination of new young fans around the planet, and, although their audience spans two generations, it is now predominantly a young one, inspired by the massive legacy and influence of this unique band (and, of course, Eddie).
To allow Iron Maiden fans in Australia to get right up close to the band, the fan club are organising advance booking of tickets for members and running a special draw for them whereby 60 winners and friend at each show will be given first access to the venue and be first to the stage barrier. Full details can be found on www.ironmaiden.com .

VANISHING POINT VIDEO CLIP COMPLETE!!!

Greetings ladies and gentlemen, just a quick note to let you know that we are still alive and keeping busy with everything related to the new album. Two weeks ago we had recorded a music video for a song from our forthcoming album which will be released in the next few months, the song titled "Surrender" was recorded by our good friends at Demo Clips, and so far the video looks excellent, we will let you know when we will
upload it! We just wanted to post this update to let you know that Demo Clips is a new company who specialize in professionally filmed music videos and we want to let the many bands out there who may be reading this here in Australia or overseas that these guys can do a fantastic job and they should definately be contacted if you are serious about getting your music on video, hell they even made us look ok which says a lot heh heh. Here's a brief rundown on what they are all about...

Demo Clips specialise in shooting video clips for unsigned / signed and independent bands and artists. Demo Clips offer professional production services at exclusive rates.
Demo Clips can setup and deliver a production package specific to your needs and budget. Demo Clips offer a quick turn around on most video productions and utilise cutting edge editing technology to deliver quality music videos. Be heard and seen by A&R... don't just send record companies, producers and alike faceless (audio) demos. Cut a DVD with us and present the record industry with a viable image. Demo Clips work with bands and artists of all genres. Our production crew have the knowledge and experience to promote any artist via this essential visual medium. Contact Chris Powell (Director / Chief Editor) or Ghislaine (Jill) Coghill (AV Specialist / Business Manager)  at democlips@yahoo.com.au or visit their web site here.

So there you have a brief rundown, these guys are good at what they do, they are not idiots who dicovered how to use a digital camera and they actually know their shit, so give them a try, any Aussie bands who want to get a clip done, get in touch with them, don't say we never told you. :)

Cheers... Vanishing Point

Cheers,

Vanishing Point begins it's arduous task of finding a drummer who will be replacing Jack. After releasing three studio albums, nearing completion of their fourth album / new album and completing extensive European and Australian tours, Vanishing Point seeks a drummer with great communication skills, who is friendly, easy going, has own transport and is willing to commit 100%.
Must have the ability to write in a team environment and have some stage experience, should be financially secure and be able to tour overseas.
After signing to Germany's fastest growing record label Dockyard1, Vanishing Point has been put among the worlds best music acts today.
So if you, or if you may know someone who has what Vanishing Point is looking for please reply to this email address.

December 28th, 2006

Hi Peoples, just thought to jump on and say hello to you all and give you all an update as to how the new album is going and some news. Firstly, we would like to thank Steve for his contribution to the band for the last ten months, unfortunatley sometimes things don't work out and Steve decision to leave was mutual with all the guys in the band, there is no bad blood, there are no rumours, its just a simple fact that if things don't work, then they dont work.
The new guy on bass as Steve mentioned is Adrian, a brief rundown on the new cat in the band is that Adrian has played in Leonard's band, Manic Opera (hopefully the band will reunite) and Here I Die as well as session work for many bands live and many recordings, put simply Adrian's playing is a step up and you will hear how he plays on the new VP album when it comes out.
Ok, the new album, so far we have some album titles but nothing concrete, there will be an anouncement in the next couple of months, to be honest with all thats been going on and the hectic schedule of the recording we have had our focus there... Which brings us to the album and how it is shaping up... So far, so good, the album musically is a little heavier than usual, but for VP fans it is a step up and musically it is melodic, bombastic, dynamic, quicker and suprise suprise... shorter than Embrace The Silence.
The music is completed, just doing edits at the moment on the drums and keyboards which will be finished by years end. Silvio will be in the studio the first week of January to start the vocals and will continue on until the album is finished and pending other bands recording schedules as well.
All in all we expect the album to be completed by April, we wanted to finish it earlier but we can't and have to be respectful to other bands who are to use the studio as well, if you ask us... fuck em, bastards!!! Heh heh only kidding.
So there you go guys, there's a little bit of news, there is so much more to say yet without it being 100% confirmed we will not post anymore to avoid speculation or dissapointment in case something falls through, the stuff we have mentioned here is what's going on and what's happening right now.
Big thanks go to everyone this year who has supported us, has checked out our music, to the people we have met on our travels supporting bands, to the major bands we have supported and who have been awesome (Zakk Wylde and Gamma Ray) and to the promoters who have believed in us, it is truly appreciated.
Most of all may all of you have a happy new year, may 2007 bring you all good health, wealth, happiness and most of all... more good listening pleasure.
Cheers... Vanishing Point.

Here a quick word from our new bass player :)

Hello Everyone!
My name is Adrian Alimic and I'm honored to announce that I'll be Vanishing Point's new bass player. I was apart of the progressive metal outfit with Leonard called Manic Opera where Silvio did guest vocals for the EP, so I'm no stranger to the guys. I have just completed all bass tracks for the upcoming new release due next year. Recording the new album was a real excitement for me and I look forward to meeting you all in the near future.

Adrian.

December 6th, 2006

Dear friends and fans... we regret to announce our brother Jack retiring from his role as our drummer. We are so proud of Jack and his new found priorities in life and we cant wish him anymore luck than we have already. This Saturday night 9th Dec will be Jack's last gig with Vanishing Point and Gamma Ray in Melbourne Australia at the HI FI Ballroom... Here he is with his own words.

"Hi everyone this is Jack here, drummer from Vanishing Point. I wish to inform you all that after 16 great years with Vanishing Point, it has now come to the time for me to call it the day. All my goals I believe have been fulfilled as a musician, recording three albums, European tours and film clips to name a few. After just getting married and my wife now expecting twins, my focus is now more on family rather than music.I will still remain to be close to the band and will help them when in need. I have also recorded the drums to the follow up album "Embrace the Silence" which the title is yet to be named. We all still remain close friends and I wish all the success they thoroughly deserve in the upcoming future. Please be assured that Vanishing Point still are as strong as ever before which will be proven with the release of the new album sometime next year.
I wish Tommy, Silvio, Chris and Steve all the best with the release of the new album and the future.
To all the fans of Vanishing Point, I thank you all for your support throughout the years and I hope I have not disappointed you in anyway. Now it's time to move on to the next chapter in my life, teaching my children to become the next generation of headbangers.
Thank you all,
Jack Lukic"

Thank's Jack for everything you have done mate, all of us will miss you very much but we will be glad to see the end of all the little rippers you so kindly let us smell..but most of all we will miss your amazing sense of humour which has cracked us up many time's,your kind heart, and your endless support that you have given us throught the years. You have been our foundation from where the band has been built on. Thank you for being there time after time you will be difficult to replace not just as a drummer but as someone who we consider to be all our best friend.
Vanishing Point.

VANISHING POINT PREPARING TO RECORD NEW ALBUM IN SEPTEMBER!!!

Hello everyone, hope you are all well.

We are currently busy writing and preparing ourselves for our fourth album for Dockyard 1, we are booked to go back into the recording studio in September with Endel Rivers at Palm Studio's (Black Majesty, The Eternal and many others) and things are going really well, what can we say about the new material so far? It's probably the heaviest music that we have come up with in some parts within the Vanishing Point style, we still have the melodic edge, symphonic arrangements and thought provoking lyrics as usual that you would expect on a Vanishing Point album, we are very excited about the new material and we hope that you guys stick around for the next album!!!

Oh yeah, this time the album will not take years to complete, we want to have it ready for early next year and yes as many people are asking the songs will be shorter, at least the majority of them will be heh heh.

We also have a myspace page in, so check it out at here!

Cheers from Melbourne, Australia

Vanishing Point

Hello to all our fans and our good friends in the media. We would like to announce officially that Vanishing Point has found a new bassist. It has been a very hard and reluctant task in finding a replacement for Joe. With over a dozen applicants stretching as far as Europe and abroad we didn't have to look further than our own back yard.

After going through several weeks of auditioning it is with great pleasure to welcome Steve Cox to his new position as our new bass player. Steve has fitted in with his new role quite nicely with his great sense of humour and professionalism towards VP is most welcom. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank those who did try out but who were unfortunately unsuccessful. We wish all the very best for your future and know in what ever you chose to do you will be successful.

October 31st, 2005

VANISHING POINT SEEKS NEW BASS PLAYER!

After the shocking and sad news of Joe Del Mastro deciding to leave Vanishing Point we thought it was going to throw the VP boys in a real spin. Here is what they had to say…
“ We were all deeply saddened and completely shocked when we all sat down for what was going to be just another normal and regular rehearsal. It was in a moment of confusion and laughter because we were just joking around as we do when we get to together. When Joe said that he had something to say in a rather sad tone, his voice getting kind of louder to get over the loud bellowing laughter from us joking around. He sounded as if someone had passed away.

“Guy’s ……GUY’S…. I have some thing to say …” It was something that we all never expected to hear but in a very brief moment of silence it was out “ I’m leaving the band.”
We were all shell-shocked, we just didn’t know what to say or do or think, it was even too hard to believe. Vanishing Point share something what a lot of bands dream of and that is the great friendship that is a huge bond that can never be broken. With Joe’s explanations as to why he wanted to leave, a huge level of respect and understanding came over us. With that said Joe will be greatly missed, we may have lost him as a member of Vanishing Point but never as a life long friend.”

So there it is Vanishing Point begins it’s arduous task of finding a replacement Bassist. After releasing 3 studio albums and completing extensive European and Australian tours, Vanishing Point seeks a Bassist with great communication skills who is friendly and easy going and is willing to commit 100%. Must have the ability to write in a team environment and have some stage experience. Should be financially secure and be able to tour overseas. After signing to Germany's fastest growing record label Dockyard1 (dockyard1.com) Vanishing Point has been put among the worlds best music acts today.
So if you, or if you may know someone who has what Vanishing Point is looking for?

Please reply to this email address.

Message from Joe Del Mastro:

Hi Everyone.

I am writing to let you all know that I am leaving Vanishing Point. My reasons are personal and it was a decision that I needed to make. Lately I've noticed my life going in a different direction. I felt a lack of passion and drive that I once felt for the band. Vanishing Point needs a member who shares the same vision and future goals. I felt it was the best thing to do for myself but more importantly for the future of Vanishing
Point. It was one of the biggest and hardest decisions that I've ever had to make.

Vanishing Point has been one of the best experiences of my life. It was a childhood dream of mine to be in a band just like Vanishing Point. I have the utmost respect for Tommy, Jack, Silvio and Chris and I wish them all the best for the future. I thank you all for the great times and the opportunity to create and play great music with you. You are friends for life.

I'd like to thank all the fans and people I've met through the band. A special thanks to all my friends and family for their support. A big thanks to everyone who has helped me throughout this wonderful journey.

Cheers, Joe Del Mastro

Greetings Earthlings!!!

This is just a small update to let you know that we have officially changed the title of our new album to "Embrace The Silence." We are currently speaking to labels about the release of the new album and we are hopeful that if all goes correctly then it will be out early in 2005. We sincerely appologize for the delay, but the matters for the delay have been out of our hands.

Silvio has been ill once again and he has been in and out of hospital over three times in the last week and a half, we have seen Silvio and he is slowly doing ok, we dont know what to say at this point in time and when Silv is better we will let you all know. We thank everyone for their kind wishes to Silv.

Our web site is going to be re-vamped in hopefully not too long, our supreme webmaster David Griffiths has been hard at work on it and we are happy with the results. A question many people from all around the world have been asking is "will you guys ever get your arses into gear and get your merchandise online?" Well the good news there is that we will have our existing merchandise (shirts and CDs) available soon!

Anyways thats it for now, we once again appologise for the delay and sincerely thank you for your patience,

Kindest regards,
Vanishing Point.

August 25th, 2004

On the morning of August 16th, only hours from celebrating his 30th birthday, Silvio Massaro was admitted to St. Vincent Hospital, Melbourne Australia, for surgery on his sinus'. We asked him for the reason why this surgery was done. We sent in our little reporter Linda Fiorentino to ask the important questions.

LF: Could you start off by telling everyone why you went into surgery?
SM: Well for years now I have been suffering from massive headaches which would literally render me being locked up in a dark room, curled up in a ball, till the pain went away. I'd get a huge build up of congestion in my sinus' which would be the main problem of it creating so much pressure being built up, making my head throb! After numerous x-rays and tests we found out my sinus' was the main reason why I was getting these bastard headaches all the time.

LF: How long were you in for? What did they have to do to you?
SM: I was only in over night and in for most of the following day. They reconstructed my whole sinus by taking out parts of my skull behind my nose and scarping out cartilage. I have never been in so much pain as I am in now. I feel like someone has swung a baseball bat across my face!

LF: How long will you be out action?
SM: Well my doctor assures me that the worst will be over in a couple of weeks.

LF: Off the subject a bit here but when are we going to see the new CD from VP?
SM: Haha! Good question... Well all will be revealed very soon I hope. There has been a chain of events as of late, which I can't get into for legal reasons, but we will issue some press releases in the next couple of weeks. It's been so frustrating for us lately knowing we have a killer album to release but can't release just yet. We understand and sympathise with our fans' frustrations and for that were sorry. I know they won't be disappointed with the new CD. So I can say with confidence that it's definitely worth the wait!

LF: Well thanks for taking the time out to chat to me Silvio and we really hope that you have a speedy recovery.
SM: No probs, thank you.

Greetings Earthlings!!! Just a quick announcement to let you all know that the rumours are true, our brothers from Finland, Sonata Arctica have recorded a cover of "Two Minds One Soul" which will be released as a bonus track for an upcoming single through Nuclear Blast. This is an honour and we can't wait to hear it!!!

Tommy and Chris have officially joined the ESP guitars camp and are now proudly endorsed by this killer guitar company!!! Joe, Tommy and Chris have officially signed up with Dean Markley guitar strings as well, so if you are a guitarist looking for killer guitar strings that will keep tone and put up with abuse then we definitely recomend them, these strings are awesome!!! Cheers for now!!!

See a photo here!

The video has been zipped and is in MOV format. We reccommend you use Quicktime Alternative to view the video, and not regular Quicktime. Click here to download the video!

Just to keep all you VP fans up to date with the progress of the brand new album, we are so very close to it's completion, we can taste it! It has been a trial to say the least, but we are 99.9% finished in the studio! After a day or so of the web site being temporarily offline we are back online! The downtime was due to us once again switching hosting servers. There is one particular Sydney, Australia based Internet registry and hosting company who we are quite unhappy with, but we feel we would be stooping to their level by naming them publicly.

Hello everyone, just a quick update to let you all know that we are going to be playing live at this year's Metal For The Brain festival in Canberra! We will be appearing live at the Utopia Records outdoor stage and we will be playing a forty minute set that will begin at 9:40pm and we hope to see many of you there :)

This years Metal For the Brain will be held at the University Of Canberra, Belconnen ACT, Australia on December 20th. Apart from that we are still recording our new album whenever the studio is available (believe us , it is crazy and we want to get the album finished!!!), and we will soon have our merchandise online for people that are interested in shirts, CDs and posters etc. Here is the flyer!

We thank you for your patience and support.
All the best from Vanishing Point.

February 22, 2003

Hello everyone, how are you all doing? All is going well here, we have been relatively quiet because we have not been recording this month due to the recording studio being booked out. We are back in there in March and we are looking forward to getting it all finished. In January Jack, Tom and myself recorded the drums and guitars, the result has come out great and we just have to go back in there and fix a couple of things up when the rest of the guys are done. Words escape me as I try to describe so far what has been recorded, the songs have that typical Vanishing Point character to them, yet they have a bit more balls this time. The slower songs sound really cool and we have indications what the songs titled "Embraced" and "Somebody Save Me" will sound like because Leonard has recorded the keyboards for those tracks and they sound huge.
I think that most of you will enjoy it and hopefully we will be able to have the album out as soon as things get done.
Although it is taking more time waiting for the studio to be vacant, it will be worth the wait I'm sure, this we promise :)
Its adios / sayonara / dowedzenia / tchuss and of course catch y'all later :)

Take care and stay safe
Cheers Chris Porcianko :)

December 9, 2003

Hello everyone, we hope that you are all well and doing great. :)

Many people have been asking us why we have been very quiet of late and if there is any new songs coming along. Well, after all this time we are happy to announce that we have completed writing our third album and we are very happy with the end result of the songs so far. Nothing has changed in Vanishing Point in the way that we approach our songs and the way that we write, rest assured there will be no dramatic changes with the new songs, some of the songs are a little heavier yet they still have the melodies that you can expect from Vanishing Point.

We are booked to enter the recording studio in early January 2003 and we will be once again working with Endel Rivers at Palm Studios here in Melbourne, Australia, we cant wait to get back in there as much as we cant wait to get the new album out to you. :)

Hopefully the time between the album being released and the completion of the album will not be too distant this time. The songs/titles that will be on our next album will be "If Only I", "Reason", "My Virtue", "Hollow", "Season Of Sundays", "Breathing", "Reflection", "Embraced", "A Life Less..." and a few more once we finalize the song names/titles. So anyways, we hope that you will stick around for the next chapter of Vanishing Point, no doubt it is going to be a good one. :)

We would also like to express our best wishes to everyone all over the world for your warm words, patience, friendship and most of all, your support.

All of us in Vanishing Point wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy/safe/metal new year!!!!!!
Cheers from Melbourne, Australia Silvio,Tom, Joe, Jack and Chris.

May 23, 2002

Hello to all my friends...

Unfortunatley I have quite a sad announcment to make...

Now that the Edguy tour is over and Vanishing Point have no further bookings for this year I feel that now is the right time to annouce that I will no longer be playing Keyboards in Vanishing Point. It is a decision that for most of this year I have been trying to avoid making but after having a long discussion with the guys earlier last week I have decided that it is the right thing to do.

My reasons for leaving are personal and I want to stress to everybody that this has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with anybody from Vanishing Point. You heard it first from me, If anybody says otherwise then they are wrong! I love those guys like my brothers and they were very supportive of my feelings and my subsequent decision. Rest assured I will be dropping into VP rehearsals on a regular basis where we will continue to laugh and hang shit on each other just as we whould have if I was still a band member.

So what do I have planned next?
I have always had an interest in songwriting and music scoring and I am looking to dedicate as much of my time as possible to pursuing that interest. I will be writing primarily Heavy Metal, but for a bit of fun I am also writing some pop material which I hope to get published in the future. At this stage I have no plans to form or join any other band.

Vanishing Point are a great band and they deserve all the recognition they can get. I look forward to the next chapter in the Vanishing Point story and I plan to be there every step of the way helping the guys out any way possible. Only this time not as a member, but as a fan and a friend.

For such a young age I have achieved a lot in the last two and a half years with Vanishing Point. Be it playing at Wacken, touring Europe, or even being a part time member of the mighty Gamma Ray. They were all excellent times and will remain in my heart as happy memories that I will cherish forever.

Throughout everything that we have all been through, the undying closeness and friendship that I have formed with Jack, Joe, Tom, Silvio and Chris, will always be my greatest achievement of all.

Thanx, and I'll see you around...

Dan.

November 2, 2001

Vanishing Point will be attending (but NOT playing) at a very special gig on November 17th at The Gershwin Room, Espy Hotel, Melbourne. Metal Warriors MetalFest will feature: Enter Twilight, Eyefear, Anarion and Battalion! Plus as a great honour, Dirk Schlachter of Gamma Ray will be the guest of honour!

The Tangled on Tour 2001 is nearly at an end and we have an update on VP's doings!

Vanishing Point were supported by friends of ours from the band Megace. It was a family night attended by management, record company, touring company and the members of Gamma Ray to name a few.

This was the first chance for the legendary Kai Hansen and Gamma Ray to see the band that would be touring with them and they were very impressed stating that they had never seen a better show in that small venue. They were so impressed that they asked us if Danny Olding (keyboard player) would play for Gamma Ray on the tour.

This duty is usually handled by guitarist Henjo Richter who also doubles as keyboardist on stage for Gamma Ray. What a way to start! One of Vanishing Point's most influencial bands, with whom they would soon be touring had just asked a Vanishing Point member to play for them. What an honour this was both for Vanishing Point.

After a national television appearance on TeleBruxelles (Brussels television) where the Brussels show was announced, the tour went onto the beautiful Brussels, Belgium where Vanishing Point played a headliner show which went for almost 2 hours.

After this show we headed down to the South of Germany. A town called Schliersee in the province of Bavaria (home of the European office for Metal Warriors). This was an awesome week for all. We stayed at five star hotels and were pampered by the entire town. The town was open to our use as we pleased to film the video clip for 'Closer Apart' from the 'Tangled in Dream' album. They even offered blockades if need be. We were the very special guests of honour in the town that week. After a hectic few days of filming, we finished the stay with a press conference where the mayor presented us with gifts. They also made an announcement that the clip was to be used for the Tourist Bureau.

We then travelled a few hours to the next show in Aalen, Germanywhich was to be the official warm up party for the Summer Breeze festival where Vanishing Point was to play with the legendary PAUL DI'ANNO (formely the original singer of Iron Maiden) with his band Killers. This was another great honour for us all. The venue was packed and the night was rocking. Vanishing Point had left a huge impression.

Thirdly, we have uploaded a mamoth pile of images. These include live shots from Vanishing Point's Farewell show on Friday 13th July at The Espy Hotel, Melbourne. Also featuring MISC. photos from various other gigs, airport shots, instore signings, etc. Check these out here.

We've added two newspaper articles featuring Vanishing Point. You can check them out in the Media, Articles page.

We have three sound samples for you fans to download! One more is on the way. They're in the Audio page. We've been busy putting up a tonne of reviews too! Check them out on the Articles page.
